Hi Everyone, The new TFSi system for the VAG product line brings quite a few new challenges to the table and the learning curve is / and will be steep! One of the problem areas that seems to be cropping up is the ability of the original "Rail" pump to sustain the spec'd pressure (about 110 BAR) under high torque conditions.
A6 (C7 Platform) Discussion - Coolant Water Pump replacement, DIY 2.0L TFSI - First off, there are youtubes for A4, Q5 2.0L TFSI pump replacements, which have either the same, or similar CAEx motors, and they are very helpful, here is one I mostly followed, with some small differences for a DIYer and the A6 C7: The 2.0t TSI engine found in most VW|Audi models from 2008-2014 has a few common issues (more info here). While any issue on a car is important to address, there are 2 issues on the TSI engine that can be catastrophically costly. The timing system on your 2.0t TSI engine uses a chain to keep to top and bottom of the engine moving together. 2.0 TFSI random misfire. I have a 2010 A4 Allroad 2.0 TFSI with 120 000km on the clock. About 3-4000km back I changed oil, filter, sparkplugs and coils. But before that the car would suddenly hesitate and start shivering (misfireing, limp mode?), this only happend 2-3 times during about 6 months and would only last for a short while (like 5-15
Here is what I did: - Swapped plugs 3 and 1 to see if problem would movedid nothing.
